Isabella Staino

was born in 1977 in Florence, where she graduated with 110 cum laude at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prof. Gustavo Giulietti’s Painter School.

She lives and works in Livorno.

 

She has exposed her works in 53 individual exhibitions.

With Sergio Staino, Isabella illustrated Adriano Sofri’s books of Einaudi and Coconino Press Edition.

In 2013, she illustrated the tale “Isabella e l’Ombra” (Isabella and the Shadow) by Antonio Tabucchi who wrote it for her in 2003. The original drawings and the book, edited by Vittoria Iguazu Editora, has been presented in several Italian cities and in the Italian book shops in Paris and Berlin as well as at the Italian Culture Institutes of Hamburg and Lisbon.

Isabella realised set designs and costumes for the Gogmagog Acting Company, for the Opera Barga Festival and for the directors Riccardo Massai, Gaetano Ventriglia and Marc Ascoli.

With her works, she took part in HAI PAURA DEL BUIO? 2013/14 festival organized by Manuel Agnelli from Afterhours group band in the following editions: Officine Grandi Riparazioni-Turin, Auditorium Parco della musica-Rome, Alcatraz-Milan, Set Action Stage-L'Aquila
